Pains of Life
1) strong, ahh!, up, frustrated, hurt
2) The detail the the muscular structure is impressive. I think the sculpture did a good job of conveying the emotions through action. That action with the detail really conveys a message of agony and frustration.
3) I don't like the lack of color. It seems to be a very bland sculpture. It's also a bit depressing.
4) I would not purchase this sculpture. It is condescending and depressing.
5) Agony, pain, frustration
b) Seems angry at God
c) the sculpture fits in the sculpture walk but maybe not with the downtown theme and feel
6) strong frontal presence
b) not from all sides
c) only appealing from sides and front
d) in rods
7) angular
b) simplified
c) texture
d) smooth
e) concrete
Man in Motion
1) smooth, abstract, awkward, leaning, cool
2) It's very abstract from one perspective but concrete from another. Once I saw the fullness of it I appreciated it. I like the angles, they convey the title
3) Didn't dislike anything
4) I would display it if I could. It's not too negative. It's a cool piece. I like that it makes sense from one side but not from another.
5) Movement, beliefe in action and change, it keeps the eye moving forward
6) Yes, yes, it's abstract from different sides and angles but obvious from the front and the lighting enhances it, material was used seamlessly
7) rounded, simplified, no, smooth, both concrete and abstract
Soaring Eagle
1) eagle, soaring, sharp, gold, fierce
2) I like the angles of the sculpture. i think it is cool (which is what the artist was going for). The sharp angle of the statue wholistically shares the angles of in individual pieces.
3) I don't like the turquoise stones at the bottom. I think they're out of place. I don't believe they add anything to the sculpture.
4) I probably would purchase it because it's cool and it's fierce and guys like that kind of stuff.
5) Noting in particular, possibly Native American roots, I feel like it is soaring above the viewer, it was placed on an extra pedestal.
6) yes very, it is interesting from different sides and angles, it isn't the same from different angles. It almost looks like a bunch of shapes, the natural lighting isn't great (it's in the shade almost all the time), it's been pieced together with individual angles
