I am learning the importance of order and consistency in my daily routine. I've recently chosen to make sure I'm in bed before midnight and up by eight in the morning. I think learning to be self controlled in making little choices like going to bed on time will snowball into the ability to make correct decisions on big topics. So I'm learning to be disciplined in small matters so that I can continue to live simply in the future. My car isn't exactly fancy but right now that's by default, I'm just thankful to have a car and can't exactly afford a nicer one. But one day when I can afford a much nicer car I will probably stick to a basic one because for all these years a simple car has done what I've needed it to do. There 's no need for a brand new car.
I would hope that I will be honest with myself when deciding what is necessary and what is just want in my life. My talents, skills, and resources should be used to serve others. I'll be the first to admit that I don't always do that but I would like to think that I'm daily getting better at the little things and building off of my accomplishments. The ability to live frugally out of necessity now should someday come in handy when assessing needs and wants. In those moments I hope that I am honest enough to give my excess away to others.
Discipline (or lack thereof) will either make you or break you. This will apply to all aspects of your life. Good to hear you're applying it now.
